GattiHR Recruits Head of HR for Titan Security Group
July 13, 2021 – Quincy, MA-headquartered executive search firm GattiHR recently recruited Ross McCarthy, formerly vice president of HR at The Parking Spot, a leading off-airport parking company, as head of human resources for Titan Security Group. CEO J.L. Baker and search director Jessica Bukovac led the assignment.
Titan Security Group is a top Chicago-based privately-held security services provider. Mr. McCarthy will be responsible for leading the HR function, with a team of close to 15 employees across the organization. Reporting directly to the company president, and as a member of the senior leadership team, Mr. McCarthy will be developing and executing an HR strategy for the business.
As a key member of the leadership team, the HR leader has significant responsibility and visibility as a culture driver for the organization and ensures the business of HR (recruiting, on-boarding, training, employee relations, business partnership, etc.) is handled efficiently and effectively on a daily basis. Mr. McCarthy also provides guidance, advise, counsel and support to the president along with other leaders in the organization as it continues its rapid growth.
Key Responsibilities
Mr. McCarthy is responsible for the oversight and activities of the HR department, including recruiting and onboarding, training and development, engagement and retention, and employee and labor relations. He also works to maintain and build upon Titan’s strong culture and to make Titan an even better place to work.
During his tenure at The Parking Spot, Mr. McCarthy helped the business grow significantly, both organically and through acquisition and greenfield projects in new markets, while increasing its net promoter score (NPS) to industry-leading levels and reducing employee turnover significantly below the industry. Before that, he was global HR director of two business units of IDEX Corp., a $2 billion publicly traded operating company with over 40 business units globally. Mr. McCarthy also has held a variety of HR leadership roles at Sears Holdings Corp., including in retail, supply chain and corporate functions. He was also a consultant with Mercer, a large HR and management consulting firm. He started his career at Sloan Valve Co., a global manufacturer of plumbing products. Mr. McCarthy holds a bachelor’s degree from St. Norbert College.

Previously, he served as managing director and was responsible for leading the firm’s growth, as well as its Chicago office.
Mr. Baker combines over 15 years of experience in both Fortune 300 corporate HR leadership and top-five retained executive search. Having worked with hundreds of clients in a variety of consulting capacities, he has built a reputation for developing strong trusted partnerships. He has fostered this approach across the firm, enabling the GattiHR team to provide high levels of consultation and care to clients with a focus on quality, expertise, partnership and speed.
Ms. Bukovac leads recruiting operations for GattiHR’s HR executive search practice. She manages recruiting activities for HR Leadership roles and has placed C-Suite leaders, vice presidents and directors for companies ranging in size from 150 employees to Fortune 200 enterprises across numerous industries. Ms. Bukovac partners closely with clients and candidates to deliver top-tier talent and deliver a quality candidate experience. Prior to joining GattiHR, she helped place executives for high-growth technology start-ups. Ms. Bukovac combines her previous years of research and marketing experience to find and engage with top talent for the firm’s clients.
