Ernst & Young Acquires PeopleFirm

January 16, 2020 – Ernst & Young (EY) has further enhanced and expanded its capabilities in its People Advisory Services (PAS) business with the acquisition of strategic people consultancy PeopleFirm, a leader in delivering workforce and organization strategy, performance management, diversity and inclusion, leadership and culture work. Financial terms of the deal were undisclosed.

PeopleFirm is a leader in delivering workforce and organization strategy, performance management, diversity and inclusion, leadership and culture work. It is well-regarded for its leading-class track record of providing in-depth and customized client transformation services that address strategy, culture, structure, people, leadership and change.

The acquisition of PeopleFirm, which has offices in Seattle and Portland, OR, accelerates Ernst & Young U.S.’ expansion of its PAS business in the West. Now, with more than 2,700 professionals across the Ernst & Young Americas area, the EY PAS business offers clients end-to-end options for their people agenda, including workforce and organization strategy, M&A, HR transformation and technology, reward and performance, culture and change management, employee experience and integrated mobile talent.

“Our priority is to provide our clients with leading tools and resources to better anticipate and adapt to rapid change and face the disruptive forces fundamentally changing our working world,” said Kim Billeter, EY Americas people advisory services leader. “PeopleFirm’s combination of creativity, innovation, seasoned experience and passion for its clients deepens our current capabilities and support of existing accounts.”

PeopleFirm is renowned for designing products and executing solutions that utilize research and academic thinking on workforce issues, HR leading practices and business transformation. PeopleFirm’s advanced performance management methods, rooted in content and data, will help further the results-focused work of EY PAS, said Ernst & Young.

“Our longstanding consulting experience, combined with our ability to deliver innovative and knowledgeable approaches to address each client’s unique needs and challenges, opens the door to a myriad of opportunities,” said M. Tamra Chandler, founder and CEO of PeopleFirm. “Joining EY allows us to fulfill our mission of helping clients achieve greatness hand in hand with their people.”

“In the face of the disruptive forces changing the working world, organizations need to become much more adaptable to rapid change — and they need their people to be flexible and agile to match, at a time when it’s getting harder to source, manage, motivate and retain talent while controlling costs,” said Ernst & Young.

EY People Advisory Services professionals can assist companies in effectively harness their respective people agenda as part of an integrated business strategy. EY said this can translate into competitive advantage by helping you get the right people, with the right capabilities, in the right place, for the right cost, doing the right things.
