Coulter Partners Strengthens Senior Leadership Team

December 11, 2025 – Life sciences recruiting specialist Coulter Partners has strengthened its senior leadership team with Ian Coyne joining the managing partners group. In addition, the firm further refined the structure of its senior leadership team, with Joe Coulter assuming a new role as chief business officer and Charlotte James being promoted to chief operating officer.
“Ian’s wealth of diverse experience across executive search, technology, and management consulting is perfectly aligned with the needs of our global clients who are navigating digital transformation in the health, science, and technology sectors,” said Nicholas Green, CEO of Coulter Partners. “His inclusion in the managing partners group is an acknowledgement of his expertise and his dedication to our unique client advisory services. Ian’s insights will be critical as we drive the next phase of our journey.”
Mr. Coyne, who joined Coulter Partners in 2019, is elected to the managing partners group to enhance the firm’s organizational and leadership advisory services, with an emphasis on the intersection of technology, health, and science. He brings a highly strategic and specialized background to the leadership team, drawing on 14 years in international executive search and assessment with leading global search firms, and 11 years in management consulting and technology. Based in London, Mr. Coyne previously served as chief growth officer at The Up Group and was global head of knowledge for Russell Reynolds Associates.
Mr. Coulter, co-founder of Coulter Partners in 2003, now holds primary responsibility for growth and strategic development of the company. In this capacity, he will focus on defining market expansion opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and guiding the firm’s long-term commercial vision to maintain leadership in health, science, and technology executive search.
Ms. James leverages over 16 years of dedicated business operations leadership. She will be responsible for driving efficiency and effectiveness in day-to-day operations across multiple international markets, executing company-wide projects, and developing and implementing optimized business strategies that empower the company to achieve its commercial objectives.
These changes follow a strategic leadership transition and the reorganization of Coulter Partners’ senior leadership team in 2024. This transition saw Bianca Coulter, co-founder and then CEO, assume the role of executive chair. In this role, she continues to focus on growth, client advisory work, and board and C-suite succession projects. Mr. Green stepped into the CEO role, based in New York. Additional members of the senior leadership team include Mr. Coulter, Ms. James, and James Bichener, CFO.
