August Leadership Appoints Senior Advisor in Tokyo
October 27, 2026 – August Leadership has named Paul Dupuis as senior advisor in Tokyo. “We are delighted to have Paul join August Leadership,” the firm said in a LinkedIn post. “His experience will add significant depth as we aim to strengthen our presence and relationships in Japan, alongside our broader APAC capabilities.”
With more than 30 years of leadership experience across Asia-Pacific, including senior roles in Japan, Mr. Dupuis brings deep local market knowledge and a broad regional perspective, alongside extensive experience advising CEOs, boards and executive teams. His career spans strategy, leadership, organizational transformation and succession.
Mr. Dupuis is the former CEO of the Japan and India operations of the world’s largest HR services company, former head of APAC for the recruitment arm of Japan’s largest job board, and today advises CEOs and boards through his work with Take-5 Global and Bain & Company. A member of Marshall Goldsmith’s prestigious 100 Coaches network, he advises CEO’s, boards and executive teams on leadership, organizational transformation, business strategy and succession planning, helping organizations build high-performing, future-ready leadership teams.
In addition, Mr. Dupuis is the founder and CEO of Take-5 Global and serves as an executive advisor to Bain & Company. Drawing on more than 35 years of executive leadership experience, he combines CEO experience with board governance, executive coaching and strategic advisory work to help organizations navigate transformation, strengthen leadership capability and prepare the next generation of leaders. Mr. Dupuis is recognized across the Asia-Pacific region for his work in transformational leadership and executive development.
Based in Tokyo, Mr. Dupuis works bilingually in English and Japanese and supports organizations throughout the Asia-Pacific region. He is a member of the MBA faculty at Globis University, where he teaches courses on leadership, and is the creator of The Future Ready Leadership Gym. Mr. Dupuis is also the bestselling author of The E5 Movement, serves as a non-executive director of a Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime-listed company. He is the former chairman of the board of HOPE International Sustainable Development Agency Japan.
