Lucas Group Expands In Cincinnati

August 15, 2016 – Executive search firm Lucas Group has expanded its footprint in Cincinnati with the addition of a new manufacturing practice in the area. Jimmy Dwertman has been hired to lead the office as managing partner.

Mr. Dwertman will be expanding the firm’s team of executive recruiters in Cincinnati, adding key individuals to grow the branch. He brings diverse experience in talent acquisition, leadership and sales, and he also spent four years serving in the U.S. military. A native of Cincinnati, Mr. Dwertman understands the local job and talent market and offers a unique perspective to his clients and candidates.

Altogether, 15 Fortune 1000 companies have headquarters in the Cincinnati area, ranking the region as one of the top 10 U.S. markets for the number of Fortune company headquarters per million residents, higher than New York, Boston, Chicago or Los Angeles. Manufacturing companies in the area include QC Industries, Airtx International, Diversified Compounded Products, Balnes Corp., and Williams Engineering, among others.

A graduate of the United States Army Ranger School in Fort Benning, Mr. Dwertman continued his service as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army until 2007. He then proceeded to work in leadership roles within several manufacturing companies such as Avery Dennison and Clopay Plastics before beginning his recruiting career with Orion International.

Lucas Group’s 46 manufacturing recruiters provide consultative recruiting services for mid-tier to Fortune 500 corporations throughout all sectors of the manufacturing industry. “The Midwest is heavily industrialized, and we look forward to continuing to be the recruiting firm of choice for manufacturing employers in the area,” said Mr. Wilgus.

In addition to manufacturing, Lucas Group specializes in several other practice groups, including accounting & finance, human resources, IT, legal, sales & marketing, manufacturing and military transition. It has more than 300 affiliate recruiters located in offices throughout the U.S.

In recent months, the firm appointed Laura Kesler as managing partner for its information technology offices in San Diego, Las Vegas and Phoenix. She manages a team of five tenured recruiters between San Diego and Las Vegas with team growth projected to reach 10 in the immediate future. Previously, Ms. Kesler was a managing director at Netview, a national technology solutions and IT recruiting provider.

Lucas Group also strengthened its legal search practice in New York City with the addition of Amdie Mengistu as its new leader. He manages a team of executive recruiters and continues to expand out the practice. Mr. Mengistu transitioned into legal recruiting in 2012 and rose to managing director with boutique legal search firm Empire Search Partners.
