Z3Talent Helps CFO Selections Recruit Top Leader

April 1, 2026 – Denver, CO-based executive search firm Z3Talent has assisted in the recruitment of Brian Turner as the new managing partner (CEO). He succeeds Kevin Briscoe, who is stepping down after 11 years. Steve Ziegler and Paula Stolebarger led the assignment. “Z3Talent was pleased to partner with the board at CFO Selections in conducting the search for their next managing partner (CEO),” Mr. Ziegler said. “This transition marks the next chapter following Kevin Briscoe’s leadership over the past decade, during which the firm experienced significant growth, built a stellar reputation in the market and expanded into several other regions of the country. A sincere thank you as well to the search committee — Jen Girard, Scott Fowle, and Alex de Soto — for the collaboration and partnership throughout the process.”

“It’s been the highlight of my career to expand the reach of our team of professionals,” said Mr. Briscoe. The fractional financial executive is embraced more each year — and I can’t think of a better person to carry that work forward than Brian Turner. He brings deep experience helping organizations grow and a genuine belief that smaller businesses and non-profits deserve the same financial insight that large enterprises rely on.”

Mr. Turner previously served as president, CEO, and board director at Point B, helping grow a regional consultancy into a nationwide firm. He continues to serve as a Vistage chair and a member of the advisory leadership team at Falconi U.S., a rapidly growing operations consultancy.

“The CFO Selections experience is like none other,” said Mr. Turner. “Leveraging experienced financial talent and insight to strengthen small and mid-market businesses builds stronger communities and a more vibrant economy. I’m excited to bring that experience to new clients and partners.”

CFO Selections is a fractional financial leadership firm. They partner with growing companies in the small and lower-middle market, providing seasoned CFO, controller, accounting and non-profit executive leadership.

Z3Talent is a retained executive search firm for entrepreneurs, family-owned businesses, and private equity-backed companies. Mr. Ziegler founded the firm in 2014 as a small boutique firm leveraging his 18 years as an entrepreneur and executive in the human capital industry. Throughout his career, he has placed nearly 1,000 professionals spanning most industries and functions, however, his passion is partnering with entrepreneurs and investors in identifying hard to find executives for their companies.

FreshLo Search

Z3Talent was recently retained to lead the search for the founding chief executive officer of FreshLo, a non-profit grocery enterprise expanding in Montbello and other Denver neighborhoods. This is a build-from-scratch leadership mandate with meaningful operating complexity and community impact. “This is a rare opportunity to build and scale a new model at the intersection of retail operations and social impact,” Z3Talent said in a LinkedIn post.

“Excited to be leading the search for FreshLo’s CEO,” Ms. Stolebarger said in a LinkedIn post. “Their vision to expand access to fresh, affordable food while building a sustainable, community-driven operating model makes this both complex and deeply meaningful work.”

FreshLo is launching a network of community-driven grocery stores designed to improve access to fresh, affordable food in areas facing food insecurity. The incoming CEO will partner closely with the board and community stakeholders to stand up operations, build the leadership team, secure funding, and scale to multiple store locations over the next several years. The role requires a builder-operator who can navigate nonprofit governance while running a disciplined, multi-site retail operation.

FreshLo is seeking a visionary and dynamic leader to serve as its founding CEO. This leader will bring a proven track record of success across key areas essential to advancing their mission of addressing food insecurity by creating grocery stores that provide healthy, affordable food in low-income communities. This is a rare opportunity for the right person to take an incredible concept and, supported by a network of mission-driven organizations across Denver, turn it into a thriving organization that changes the way communities across Denver access healthy food.
