The Lancer Group Places Chief Marketing Officer for NAVEX Global

October 25, 2019 – As business becomes more global and complex, and power shifts from producers of goods and services to consumers, the chief marketing officer’s job of planning and coordinating marketing activities has become more challenging, recruiters say. Yet executive search firms are seeing no shortage of assignments for this important C-level post.

The Lancer Group, a La Jolla, CA-headquartered executive search firm, recently placed Susan Beermann as chief marketing officer of private equity-backed NAVEX Global in Lake Oswego, OR.

“Susan has demonstrated experience in building strong technology brands while executing innovative go-to-market strategies that accelerate sales within a growing market,” said Bob Conlin, president and CEO of NAVEX Global. “Her enterprise software experience, understanding of customers’ challenges and cross-functional approach to marketing are a perfect fit for our team.”

Ms. Beermann is a seasoned technology and enterprise software marketing executive who brings over 30 years of experience driving growth and innovation across the software and tech space. Most recently, she served as chief marketing officer of Ellie Mae, a SaaS platform provider for the mortgage finance industry, where she established the company as the recognized leader in mortgage finance software and was instrumental in driving 25 percent compound annual revenue growth rate over a six-year period. Prior to that, Ms. Beermann held senior leadership positions at Jigsaw, Taleo and, early in her career, Microsoft and IBM.

In her new role, Ms. Beermann will lead NAVEX Global’s marketing strategy and execution worldwide as the company expands its footprint in the governance, risk and compliance (GRC) SaaS solution marketplace.

“I am thrilled to join the NAVEX Global executive team and contribute to the delivery of a risk and compliance platform that helps protect our customers’ people, reputation and bottom line,” said Ms. Beermann. “This is a pivotal time in the GRC industry and I look forward to helping shape the vision and strategy for our next phase of growth.”

NAVEX Global is a provider of a comprehensive suite of ethics and compliance software, content and services that enables organizations to protect their people, reputation and bottom line. The company is backed by international investment firm BC Partners.

Scott Dunklee, founder of the Lancer Group, has been instrumental in broadening the firm’s practice areas into private equity and publicly-traded companies.

Its private equity affiliate, L Capital, is a specialty private equity firm focused on the technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) sectors. L Capital makes equity co-investments alongside leading buyout and growth equity funds and provides value-added advisory services to these private equity partners including diligence support, deal origination and executive search.

These co-investments allow the Lancer Group to be fully aligned with its private equity clients and gives the firm an “owner’s perspective” that informs its executive search and advisory services.
