The Conference Board Launches the Human Capital Exchange
December 14, 2011 – The Conference Board has launched The Conference Board Human Capital Exchange, a web portal designed to be the first stop resource for all human capital professionals around the world looking for information on the field. The portal will offer a single repository for research, data and analysis, thought leadership, and cutting-edge insights across the entire spectrum of human capital topics. “We believe we're uniquely positioned to bring together the entire profession on this project,” said Rebecca Ray, Ph.D., senior vice president, human capital at The Conference Board. “The Conference Board Human Capital Exchange will feature thought leadership and insights from a wide range of top organizations and outstanding practitioners.” Joining this project will be a growing roster of what the firm calls knowledge partners — organizations, associations, publications and academic institutions which will contribute research, joint webcasts and events. A long-time competitor in the field is the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management. SHRM, founded over 60 years ago to provide a community for HR professionals, currently has more than 250,000 members in 140-plus countries. It has a staff of 350 people and among its offerings is an HR certification program which has been underway since 1976.
