Summit Leadership Partners Names Head of New Products & Innovation

December 8, 2020 – Product development expert Kevin Impelman has joined Summit Leadership Partners to lead the firm’s consulting products and services practice.

“Our business and team have been growing rapidly and we’re fortunate to welcome such an experienced and forward-looking thought leader like Kevin to help us develop and launch a new lineup of innovative products and services in 2021,” said Dan Hawkins, CEO of Summit Leadership Partners. “He not only brings tremendous talent assessment and development experience, but with his added background in research and behavioral science, he will provide a science-backed and pragmatic approach to our service offerings.”

Mr. Impelman has nearly 20 years of experience serving as an advisor to global organizations on talent management and has conducted research in developing and deploying C-suite and senior executive talent assessments for the purpose of leadership selection and development. Previously, he served as the vice president of consulting and R&D at Hollweg Assessment Partners, where he was responsible for consulting and research initiatives for individual and organizational consulting offerings.

Mr. Impelman also served as executive consultant leader for IBM’s talent management division, where he led consulting engagements including large-scale assessment and selection systems, talent assessment and recruitment processes, survey and engagement projects, leadership development programs and workforce analytics applications. While at IBM, he led a team of senior consultants, was an active contributor in developing new offering, and served as a Watson trainer, providing behavioral science expertise to optimize IBM’s talent management offerings leveraging artificial intelligence.

Mr. Impelman has been published in several industry publications; he frequently presents at professional conferences; and he is a regular guest lecturer at local universities in Texas. He holds a doctorate in industrial/organizational psychology from the University of North Texas, and a bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University. He is a licensed psychologist in Texas and is an active committee member for the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP).
