Recruiting Business Up 15 Percent

May 15, 2015 – May 15, 2015 (Greenwich, Connecticut) — Hunt Scanlon Media has released its annual rankings of leading U.S. executive search firms. According to Hunt Scanlon, the senior-level recruiting industry grew 15 percent for the year, topping out at $2.6 billion in revenue among the company’s ‘Top 50’ rankings list.

“With few exceptions nearly every firm reported positive gains,” said Hunt Scanlon’s chief executive Scott A. Scanlon. Mr. Scanlon said that 70 percent of the firms on Hunt Scanlon’s this year reported double digit increases;  18 search firms reported growth rates of 20 percent or more; and 11 reported gains in excess of 30 percent. “All in all, it’s been a spectacular run for executive recruiters,” he said.

By any measure it was a banner year for the top-ranked U.S. recruiting providers. But the business landscape for recruiting leaders remains ultra-competitive. Mr. Scanlon notes that corporate talent acquisition clients are focused on two things right now: efficiency and specialization. “Boutique search firms provide both and that’s why their growth rates are among the highest in the industry right now,” said Mr. Scanlon.
