Storbeck/Pimentel Selected by AAC&U to Recruit Next President

July 14, 2015 – Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates has been selected by the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) to lead its search for a new president. Shelly Weiss Storbeck, managing partner, is leading the search along with Julia Patton, senior associate.

In April, Carol Geary Schneider announced her intention to retire from the presidency of AAC&U. She has led the university since 1998. The role of the president is to provide creative and thoughtful intellectual leadership for AAC&U’s mission and strategic priorities to advance quality in liberal education in the U.S. “AAC&U is the leading national association committed to the quality, vitality and public standing of undergraduate liberal education, which has had stable, outstanding leadership for decades,” said Ms. Weiss Storbeck.

Founded in 1915, AAC&U now comprises more than 1,340 member institutions—including accredited public and private colleges, community colleges, liberal arts colleges, research universities, and comprehensive universities of every type and size.

Storbeck/Pimentel has a long history in recruiting presidential roles for higher education institutions. The firm has placed presidents at Swarthmore College, Pomona College, Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, among others.

Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates is a minority and female owned search firm specializing in executive recruitment services to colleges, universities, independent schools and not-for-profit organizations. The firm has more than 25 consultants and support staff located in two main offices in Los Angeles and Philadelphia, with three affiliated offices in Vermont, Virginia and Florida.
