Stack Overflow Creates Next Generation Careers 2.0 Platform
March 14, 2011 – Stack Overflow, a Q&A site and home to more than 10 million IT professionals, has announced the launch of its next generation Careers 2.0 platform. Careers 2.0 gives developers the ability to create an online professional dossier and enables recruiters to gain deeper insights into a potential job candidate “As a software industry executive myself, I know first-hand how difficult it is to make hiring decisions based on the standard resume sourcing and screening process. The truth is, there’s literally nothing on a traditional resume that tells you anything about whether a prospect can write code,” said Joel Spolsky, CEO, Stack Overflow. “However, as soon as we started looking at a candidate’s peer-reviewed answers on Stack Overflow, we found almost everything we needed to know about whether they were great programmer.”
