May 20, 2015 – Russell Reynolds Associates has been chosen by the University of Delaware (UD) to lead the search for its next president. Ilene H. Nagel, head of the firm’s higher education practice, will lead the search team assisting UD.
Ms. Nagel is a long-term academic, having held professorial and senior administrative positions at Indiana University (Bloomington), the University of Maryland (College Park), and the University of California Santa Barbara. She will be joined by Russell Reynolds’ colleagues Jett Pihakis, who has recruited department chairs, deans, vice presidents, provosts and presidents to universities across the country, and Bridget Hough Meynenc, who has led searches for major research universities and academic and scientific research institutions.
“After a competitive process that included consideration and review of several leading executive search firms, the University of Delaware presidential search committee has retained the services of Russell Reynolds Associates to assist in this very important search,” said Donald J. Puglisi, managing director of Puglisi & Associates, a provider of director services to Delaware entities. Mr. Puglisi is co-chair of the university’s presidential search committee.
The University of Delaware’s main campus is in Newark, with satellite campuses in Dover, Wilmington, Lewes, and Georgetown. It has a student body of some 16,000 undergraduates and 3,500 graduates.
