Russam GMS Names Heads of Private and Public Sectors

March 22, 2010 – Russam GMS, a U.K.-based provider of interim managers, has named Jason Atkinson as managing director of its private sector unit and Gary Lawton as managing director for its public sector. The private sector group comprises financial services, private equity, manufacturing, defense and aerospace and the not for profit and charities divisions; Athene Interims, the new marketing and communications division; and the Universities and general practice sectors. The public sector business will focus on central government, the civil service, local government and healthcare. Mr. Atkinson has 18 years international sales and marketing experience across both the financial services and fashion retailing sectors. He formerly spent eight years working for various life, pensions and banking institutions including Pearl Assurance and AMP. Mr. Lawton has over 13 years of experience supplying senior executives to the public sector. Prior to joining Russam GMS, he spent the past seven years as head of public services at Elan, an IT recruitment consultancy. “Jason and Gary’s appointments as managing directors for the private and public sectors reflect the fact that both sectors now account equally for half of the business,” said chairman Charles Russam.
