RiseSmart Launches New Career Transition Service

RiseSmart launches RiseSmart Express

March 6, 2018 – RiseSmart, a provider of contemporary career transition services – a space which more search firms are looking at entering – has announced a new service called RiseSmart Express, a suite of career transition solutions and workshops tailored for small and medium businesses.

The service helps companies provide soft landings for impacted employees by quickly connecting them to certified career coaches and resume writers, new job opportunities and a technology platform that facilitates networking and rapid re-employment.

RiseSmart Express is an outplacement solution that gives any small and medium organization the ability to purchase outplacement packages a la carte, directly via e-commerce. This expedited process allows business owners, administrators and department leaders to forgo lengthy sales processes and long-term contracts. Instead, customers have immediate access to the transition solutions and workshops that meet their specific needs, budget and timeline.

Being Prepared For Change

“In today’s business climate, we see companies pivot and reshape constantly,” said Dan Davenport, president and general manager of RiseSmart. “The need for change can happen quickly and without much notice. This is why we developed RiseSmart Express. We provide support to impacted employees as fast as 24 hours from the time that packages are selected. Fast action is important because the best way to mitigate angst, anger and distress is to get impacted employees a new job quickly.”

5 Tips to Help Executives Make Successful Career Transitions
The failure of a new leader can cost an organization dearly – most estimates put the price at more than double the executive’s compensation. Add in an estimated new leader failure rate of close to 50 percent and it’s easy to see the inherent difficulty of leadership transitions.

“Solutions that help employees during their career transitions are badly needed today and can be vitally important to any company’s brand and ability to attract great people,” said Josh Bersin, principal and founder of Bersin by Deloitte.

The U.S. has roughly 5.9 million small and medium businesses, employing approximately 65 million workers, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Common workforce restructuring scenarios may include: consolidation of franchise locations, strategic changes in business directions, reshaping the mix of skills or talent and relocation of offices or departments.

The key components of RiseSmart Express are:

  • Resume Development– Professionally-written resumes and cover letters from personal branding experts, along with social profile development/consultation.
  • Personal Coaching– Live sessions with professional career coaches and methodology accredited by the International Coach Federation.
  • Connection to Jobs– Curated job opportunities, company contacts, and access to over 6,500 recruiters.
  • Tools and Resources– Actionable content and career planning resources, including premium company information, networking tools and salary reports.
  • Workshops– A variety of live training sessions to support the needs of employees before, during and after a layoff.

RiseSmart Express is available in four package options: Spark, Boost, Ignite and Empower. The packages range from $499 to $2,499 per employee, and each is designed to support a particular type of worker, from hourly employees to director level and above. Once purchased, businesses have a full calendar year to use RiseSmart outplacement and career transition services. In addition, alumni participants have access to the technology platform for life.

Expanding Platform

RiseSmart, a Randstad company, provides contemporary career transition services for organizations in more than 40 industries and 70 countries. It combines dedicated career coaching and personal branding with patented technology and tools to support transitioning employees. RiseSmart partners with HR teams and provides onsite support, specialized training and secure reporting in a results-oriented approach.

Why Onboarding Is Key to a Successful Recruiting Strategy
Effective onboarding can make or break an executive’s success in a new role, yet less than a third of organizations actively support their executives to adapt to the cultural and political climate – which rank as the top reasons new leaders fail.

Recently, RiseSmart expanded with the addition of Karen O’Boyle as its chief commercial officer. Ms. O’Boyle, an experienced leader of human capital organizations with over two decades of outplacement experience, joins the company to further accelerate its global expansion and business momentum. Previously, she president of global outplacement and redeployment firm, Mullin International, and a key leader responsible for executing the recent sale of that firm.

In December, RiseSmart announced that its co-founder and then-EVP of global operations, Mr. Davenport, would assume the role of the company’s president and general manager. Sanjay Sathé, the company’s founder, CEO and president, is transitioning the company leadership to Mr. Davenport to guide the RiseSmart team in its next chapter of growth.

“I thank Sanjay for his vision, strategic leadership and dedication to the company’s mission, which brought our two companies together in the first place,” said Linda Galipeau, CEO Randstad North America and executive board member of Randstad Holding nv. “We welcome Dan to the role of president, and have no doubt he is well-suited to lead the RiseSmart team to continued global growth and success.”
