Megan Abbett always knew she would work in nonprofit, volunteering as early as high school for a number ofcharitable organizations. But when the opportunity came to apply her twenty plus years of development experience to the role of Search Director at Lindauer, she was pleasantly surprised at its similarity to fundraising. Just as she was adept at matching donors with causes close to their hearts, she excels at finding candidates with sincere passion for her clients’ missions.
Megan began her development career at Simmons College in Boston, MA. As Director of Annual Giving, she found that serving in that capacity allowed her to gain a thorough grounding in development. From Simmons she moved to her alma mater, Boston College, in the position of Leadership Gifts Officer. Megan then explored a different type of fundraising for Facing History and Ourselves, an organization that helps educators use the past to prevent racism and prejudice today. Her success there led her back to Simmons College as Senior Director, Communications and Donor Relations before she joined Lindauer as Search Director.
Just some of Megan’s notable clients at Lindauer include The Aspen Institute, Auburn University, Franklin & Marshall College, Michigan State University, Bryn Mawr College, Dickinson College, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, University of KansasHospital, Marietta College, University of North Carolina School of the Arts, University of Illinois, and Intelligence Squared Debates.Megan holds a BA in English from Boston College and a Master of Arts in Public Relations and Business Communication from Emerson College.
