Martin Allman

Martin joined Hyperion in August 2019 having previously worked with some of the leading renewable energy and cleantech companies in Europe. He has gained extensive experience over more than 13 years, taking the lead role in starting and growing businesses in the sector. Having worked with an extensive network of installers, developers, manufacturers, distributors and utilities, he has strong insights into the future areas for growth across cleantech markets, and a deep knowledge of the UK and European policy landscape.

Before joining Hyperion Martin was the first Country Director for UK and Ireland for sonnen – a market leader in lithium-based energy storage products and VPP services. In this role he secured and delivered contracts with energy suppliers, network operators, housing developers and social housing providers, as well as establishing a network of installers and distributors from scratch.

Martin has also held Director-level roles with Sputnik Engineering (SolarMax), a leading Swiss solar inverter manufacturer, and with Enfinity a leading international developer, EPC and PV product supplier. Martin is also a Director of Westmill Solar Co-operative which owns and operates the UK’s first community owned solar farm.

As Hyperion’s Group Sales Director Martin will support the company’s continuing growth across our target markets and develop strong relationships with our clients.

He brings to Hyperion huge practical experience and valuable insights into the challenges faced by start-up and early stage ventures in developing new markets and building successful teams. This is all backed up by a genuine passion for renewable energy and a strong personal conviction to play a part in delivering the energy transition.

Away from work, Martin is a family man and sports fanatic who tries to pass on his own enthusiasm as a youth football coach.
