Elaine is a Managing Partner co-leading the Kaye Bassman Academic Medicine Practice. She joined the organization in 2011 after a successful search career at two internationally recognized executive search firms. Elaine brings the depth of a 15 year career as an academic medical center executive and consultant to her more than 10 years of executive search experience.
She has successfully completed over 150 searches over her search career. Positions placed have included Chief Medical Officers, Medical Directors, Division Chiefs, Program Directors and clinical and research faculty in the academic and not-for-profit sectors. Her experience extends broadly into the administrative leadership functions at the health system level. Her industry sector experience includes integrated healthcare delivery systems, academic medical centers, physician practice groups, and pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. An extensive leadership and internal consulting background anchors Elaine’s search expertise.
As a senior executive for 12 years at Cedars-Sinai Health System in Los Angeles, she had operational responsibility for a broad range of clinical and management services. She then spent five years as Director of Provider Services, developing a faculty recruitment service for a large physician network affiliated with the multi-hospital system at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Elaine capitalizes on her strengths as a senior executive to become a strategic partner and consultant to her diverse client base.
Experienced in multiple hospital system settings as well as executive search, Elaine leverages her organizational consulting and design experience to give clients added value with an insider’s perspective. Candidates and clients benefit from her understanding of the complexities of the patient care, research and teaching missions of the academic medical center.
Elaine earned MBA and MPH degrees from Columbia University, NY where she was awarded a Mobil Corporation scholarship. Her BA is from the University of Pennsylvania with a concentration in health economics.
