Protis Global Strengthens Health and Wellness Team

October 23, 2019 – In an effort to expand its reach into the booming wellness space, Protis Global, a Miami-based people solutions firm, has brought aboard James Meder, founder of training facility Fast Twitch, as a health and wellness specialist and senior business developer.

“James is bringing a wealth of knowledge to Protis Global in the health and wellness space,” said Michael Bitar, partner and general manager for Protis Global. “His 10-plus years as a successful entrepreneur and business owner in the health and wellness sector give James a unique ability to really sit down with companies and provide them incredible insights into how to scale their businesses. His natural curiosity coupled with his amazing drive will enhance the vibrant Miami office Protis Global culture.”

Mr. Meder has been in the performance and wellness space for more than 15 years. “He has a reputation as a tremendously hands-on entrepreneur,” said Protis Global. “This closeness helped him to recognize the industry’s need for people-centric solutions at all levels of business. This comprehension of how top talent can facilitate growth for a company is what brought James to Protis Global.”

A strong network of contacts and relationships allow Mr. Meder to bring a robust set of connectivity, skills and knowledge to Protis Global’s client partnerships in the wellness space, said the firm. Mr. Meder has been working closely with Protis Global’s marketing, and data and analytics teams to engage the wellness space in a strategic manner which incorporates metrics and outreach tracking to help mitigate procedural bottlenecks and mechanize his business development process overall.

Strong Experience

Mr. Meder has a proven track record for growing and developing a brand as well as developing the people within the organization. Prior to joining Protis Global, he founded a comprehensive performance facility which he grew to seven facilities across three states. Through this company, he was able to garner, develop and maintain a robust Under Armour Elite Training facility partnership as well as train NFL, NHL, MLB and NBA athletes. He has hired and trained over 100 coaches throughout the duration of his company’s growth.

Mr. Meder said that he has known Protis Global’s founder and CEO, Bert Miller, for some time and has relied on him for advice during several key moments as Mr. Meder scaled his business in the past. “The commitment to innovation and results drew me towards Protis Global,” said Mr. Meder. “The methodology and systems behind Protis allow us to impact this emerging $4 trillion industry speedily with solutions around sourcing and retaining talent.”

An Acquisition

This spring, Mr. Miller, through control of MRI Network Holdings LLC, acquired Management Recruiters International Inc. (MRI) from CDI Holding Co. LLC, an affiliate of CDI Corp. and a portfolio company of AE Industrial Partners LP.

Mr. Miller is an industry veteran with over 24 years in executive search and talent advisory services. MRI operates MRINetwork, one of the largest search and recruitment organizations in the world, which is comprised of nearly 400 independent search and recruitment firms.

“Protis Global has been a member of MRINetwork since 1995, and today is one of its 10 largest members,” said Mr. Miller. “I understand intimately the challenges faced by independent search and recruitment firms in our rapidly changing industry.”

“The timing was perfect as I also have extreme confidence in the future direction of Protis Global, under Michael Bitar and the tenured leadership team leading Protis Global,” he said. “Both MRI and Protis Global are primed for extensive growth, and I very much look forward to the future.”

Mr. Bitar, then partner and managing director for the FMCG division of Protis Global, was promoted and is now general manager for Protis Global. He assumed day-to-day leadership of the organization. Protis also has locations in Indianapolis and San Francisco, with a new and growing focus on the Latin American market.

Performance and Delivery

“The Protis Global team is proud to carry on the legacy that Bert and Laura Miller established in 1995 and have been driving for the last 24 years,” said Mr. Bitar. “Through Bert’s leadership, Protis Global has a very clear 2019 business plan and a strong strategic objective in place. It is now our responsibility to execute against those plans.”

“Our focus has always been and will continue to be our performance and delivery for our client companies that have entrusted their business-critical searches to our team,” he said. “As we have evolved to a professional services approach, Protis Global is well positioned to deliver world class value in many areas for both clients and candidates.”

“More than ever, Protis Global is situated to continue its growth within the professional services industry, providing a full-service talent agency for the consumer, food and beverage, cannabis, hospitality and banking industries,” Mr. Bitar said.
