PFM Executive Search Recruits Chief Social Purpose Officer for British Columbia Lottery Corporation

April 2, 2024 – PFM Executive Search has placed Natasha Questel as the new chief social purpose officer and vice president, marketing with British Columbia Lottery Corporation. Ms. Questel joins British Columbia Lottery Corporation with significant experience in the non-profit and consumer-packaged goods sectors. Most recently, she was the CEO of One Girl Can, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to breaking down poverty and gender inequality among the world’s most vulnerable girls. Prior to that, Ms. Questel was the president of Happy Planet Foods, a Vancouver-based, sustainable-food company focused on doing right by people and the planet.

Ms. Questel’s recent volunteer efforts include serving as the board chair and working board member of Basket Brigade Canada, a not for profit dedicated to spreading love by delivering food baskets to single moms and under-represented Canadians in need. She is also board member of Aisle, the B Corp period-care brand, focused on sustainability and inclusivity. 

Founded in 1992, Vancouver, B.C.-based PFM Executive Search serves a wide range of industries, working with private, public, and not-for-profit organizations to fill senior-level executive positions. Some of the roles that the firm has placed in the last year include: director of people and culture for Smythe LLP, vice president of global marketing for Destination Vancouver, and chief human resources officer for BC Securities Commission.

Ms. Rzen joined PFM in 1999. Initially one of the firm’s research associates, she has a reputation for her sensitivity to the range of specific skills and intangible qualities required by client organizations. Her strong interpersonal abilities and business skills help her quickly match qualified candidates with the right positions, said PFM. Her previous experience coordinating convention services for the Greater Vancouver Convention and Visitors Bureau provided her with firsthand knowledge about working with diverse stakeholders and clients.

Ms. Madden joined PFM in 2005 as manager of communications and business development. She has also served as a research associate, consultant and senior consultant for the firm. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of British Columbia.

Mr. Mathiesen Newcomb brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having demonstrated exceptional leadership in government and stakeholder relations, as well as strategy management functions. He most recently served as a senior executive at Genome BC, where he played a pivotal role in driving successful initiatives and fostering collaborative partnerships.
