Monster Worldwide Posts 25 Percent Revenue Jump
August 11, 2011 – Monster Worldwide, Inc./(NYSE:MWW) has posted revenues of $269.7 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2011, compared with $214.9 million in the comparable quarter of 20010, a 25 percent decline. Careers-North America revenue was $123 million, an increase of 26 percent compared to $97 million in the second quarter 2010. Careers-International revenue grew 31 percent to $113 million compared with $87 million in the prior year period. The company posted a net income of $11 million, or 9 cents per share, compared with a loss of $3 million, or 2 cents per share, in the same period a year earlier. Sal Iannuzzi, chairman, president and CEO of Monster Worldwide, said, “Bookings in our core careers business increased 30 percent year over year, despite a challenging macro environment. This strong performance is a testament to the breadth of our product portfolio, global scale and large seeker audience.”
