Monster Worldwide Posts 13.2 Percent Revenue Jump
November 7, 2011 – Monster Worldwide, Inc./(NYSE:MWW) has posted revenues of $259 million for the third quarter ended September 30, 2011, a 13.2 percent gain compared with $228.8 million in the comparable quarter of 2010. The company posted a net income of $31.8 million or $0.26 per diluted share compared to a net loss of $5.8 million or ($0.05) per diluted share in the year-ago quarter. Careers revenues were $237 million, up 21 percent year over year. North America generated revenues of $123 million, up 13 percent year over year. Careers-International revenue increased 32 percent to $114 million. Sal Iannuzzi, chairman, president and CEO of Monster Worldwide, said: “Our Global Careers bookings increased 22 percent on a year over year basis and we also improved profitability with an operating margin of 10 percent during the quarter. While our fourth quarter outlook reflects significantly greater uncertainty in the global economy, we are well positioned to grow global market share and expand our customer base worldwide as we leverage our global scale, broad product portfolio, and large seeker audience.”
