Monster Adds Online Advertising Veteran

April 12, 2010 – Online careers site Monster.com has appointed Rick Boyce as vice president of advertising sales. Mr. Boyce was previously the SVP of business development for Rooftop Media. He is best known for his work as the founding sales director at Wired Digital, the web companion to Wired magazine. There he led the team that sold the first internet banner ads in 1994. When Wired Digital was acquired by Lycos, Mr. Boyce led ad sales there before becoming president and head of sales for IGN Entertainment. “Rick is widely credited with leading the team that sold the first online ad,” said Rick Cotton, SVP and general manager of global advertising sales for Monster. “With his background in helping to establish the online advertising medium, Rick brings a level of innovation and experience that few people can match. He will be a huge asset to both Monster’s advertisers and our internal team. We’re fortunate to bring his pioneering spirit to Monster.”
