Momenta Partners Expands Search Staff

September 21, 2020 – Zurich-based executive search firm Momenta Partners has expanded with the addition of John Atsalis as principal partner to its executive search practice. He will be based in Boston.

“As the leading digital industry retained executive search firm delivering impactful leadership across several specialized technologies, we pride ourselves on identifying great talent – and we believe we have done that with this newest addition to the Momenta Team,” said Richard White, managing partner of Momenta’s executive search practice. “John’s experience and relationships established during his time at Polachi will serve him well as we continue to grow our practice and expand our capabilities.”

With the addition of Mr. Atsalis, Momenta strengthens its offerings to private equity and venture capital clients and further expands its footprint in the technology-rich Boston ecosystem.

For more than five years, Mr. Atsalis served in progressively responsible roles with Polachi Inc. He has executed an extensive portfolio of retained C-suite and VP searches for high growth technology companies ranging from venture to private equity and the Fortune 500. Mr. Atsalis specializes in recruiting executives in all functional areas (CFO, CRO, CTO, CMO and respective VP-level) for clients across the technology spectrum (enterprise, consumer, fintech, digital health, robotics and aerospace). Prior to his time at Polachi, Mr. Atsalis served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force.

“I am thrilled to join Momenta’s executive search practice,” said Mr. Atsalis. “Their innovative platform is uniquely positioned to add long-term value to our clients as the digital convergence of products, services, and solutions continues to accelerate. I look forward to leveraging my experiences and working alongside a rock star team to deliver exceptional results.”

Growing Search Firm

Momenta Partners provides executive search services to the connected and digital transformation industries. The firm has placed over 200 executive leaders in digital leadership roles since 2015. It serves a wide range of clients, ranging from Fortune 500 leaders to venture-backed innovators. The firm has completed board, CEO, EVP, SVP, VP and director searches across all functions, within major vertical markets and on every continent. Its clients include Schneider Electric, Accenture, SIGFOX, Savi Technology, MiX Telematics and Eurotech Inc., among others.

“Since our founding, we’ve focused on providing the best leaders for our clients, often taking fewer assignments to ensure thorough and insightful client and candidate experiences,” said Jonathan Moulton, managing partner of Momenta. “This has made us the go-to firm for technology-focused PE and VC firms. Richard’s deep experience helps us better serve the unique needs of larger, industrial PE firms.”

In June, Momenta Partners appointed Mr. White as managing partner of executive search. For more than 10 years, Mr. White has led talent acquisition for Patriarch Partners, a New York City-based private equity firm where he placed C-suite leaders at more than 50 portfolio companies across 14 industry sectors.

“We believe there is no more critical factor to digital industry transformation than catalytic leadership,” said Ken Forster, executive director of Momenta. “Richard has a proven track record of securing impactful leaders that have catalyzed their companies across our key digital industry sectors. We’re pleased to have him leading our executive search practice.”

In March, Momenta Partners added Blaine Mathieu as partner in advising and leader of its start-up advisory practice. The Momenta start-up advisory offerings include CEO coaching, fractional CXO services, market and landscape research, positioning and go-to-market strategy formulation, business modeling, business and partner development, and readiness for raising capital. Most recently, Mr. Mathieu was CMO and CPO at VANTIQ, a platform for creating the next generation of real-time industrial applications using AI and IoT.
