ManpowerGroup Posts 18 Percent Gain; Asia Continues to Power Growth

February 2, 2012 – ManpowerGroup/(NYSE:MAN) has posted revenues of $5.5 billion for the fourth quarter ended December, 2011, an increase of 18 percent from $5.21 billion a year earlier. The Milwaukee-based company earned $63.6 million, or 78 cents per share, a sharp increase from the same period last year when the company reported a net loss of $350.4 million, or $4.29 per share. Revenues for the year were $22 billion, a rise of 18 percent from the prior year. Net earnings were a loss of $263.6 million compared to a loss of $9.2 million a year ago. Jeffrey A. Joerres, ManpowerGroup chairman and CEO, said: “The team executed well both operationally and strategically – we were able to achieve a 29 percent increase in underlying operating profit for the fourth quarter and 61 percent for the year, while substantially moving forward our strategic drivers. Our Solutions business continued to gain momentum as our clients are valuing our portfolio of offerings. Asia continued to lead the pack in revenue and profitability growth.”
