Krauthamer & Associates Seeking New Leader for AC Transit
February 24, 2025 – Krauthamer & Associates has been retained by the Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District (AC Transit), Oakland, CA, to lead in its search for a new general manager and CEO. Gregg A. Moser is leading the assignment. The firm is seeking a dynamic, experienced and visionary executive who has proven leadership and management skills to lead the agency.
AC Transit’s CEO provides visionary leadership for all functions of the agency including operations, maintenance, planning and engineering, contract management, administration, business services, finance, external relations/communication, and strategic planning. Working in collaboration with the board of directors, the executive team, and AC Transit employees both represented and non-represented, the CEO empowers the agency to achieve short- and long-term objectives and serves as an advocate for AC Transit in the local community and the industry as a whole.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of increasingly responsible experience in management for a large public or private organization, including six years in an advanced leadership capacity equivalent to a department head or assistant department head or a similar executive-level position. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree from an accredited college or university is required. A master’s degree is preferred. In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Mr. Moser recruits professionals for a large range of industries in both the public and private sector, including transit, aerospace, financial services, technology, banking, defense, healthcare, and education.
