JM Search Expands Healthcare Technology Center of Excellence

September 11, 2020 – JM Search, a senior-level talent provider serving private equity investors, portfolio companies and Fortune 1000s, has expanded its dedicated Healthcare Technology Center of Excellence with the hiring of industry veteran, Mike Forgash.

“Since our founding nearly 40 years ago, JM Search has established an unrivaled reputation of partnering with innovative companies that require transformational leadership to help drive operational efficiency, revenue growth, and increased enterprise value,” said John Marshall, the firm’s co-founder and chief executive officer. “By adding Mike Forgash to the Healthcare Technology Center of Excellence, we’re solidifying our long-standing commitment to helping clients remain at the forefront of the changing landscape of healthcare technology and innovation.”

As a sponsor-backed CEO, investor, and board member in the healthcare, life sciences and technology sectors, Mr. Forgash has assessed and built management teams, raised capital from top-tier equity firms, and led companies through successful exits, said Mr. Marshall. “He will be working with Andrew Henry and Chuck Egoville to further expand our expertise in the healthcare technology sector. With deep knowledge and complementary experience, Egoville, Henry and Forgash will anchor a team of JM Search leaders who are unmatched in their ability to assist companies with all aspects of healthcare technology talent sourcing.”

Mr. Forgash said this is an exciting time to join JM Search. “The market for investment opportunities and leadership needs created and amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic could not make for a more opportune time to combine our resources and focus on this growing segment,” he said.

Significant Opportunities

Mr. Egoville said he sees tremendous potential for healthcare technology in the days ahead. “Forward thinking leaders across the healthcare landscape are increasingly leveraging technology such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and analytics,” he said. “I am excited to work with Andrew and Mike to help these leaders reimagine and build leadership teams capable of driving growth and innovation.”

Mr. Henry was likewise bullish about the future. “We are seeing an expanding adoption of technology, advancing interoperability capabilities and an increasingly flexible regulatory environment across the healthcare and life sciences industry, which has created significant opportunities for our clients,” he said. “I am looking forward to collaborating with Chuck and Mike to help our clients create value within the US healthcare system.”

Mr. Forgash is a four-time CEO of investor-backed companies. He has had wide-ranging exposure and leadership responsibility across the business lifecycle, from early and growth-stage companies to turnaround situations. Most recently, he served as CEO and chief strategy officer of two life science technology businesses. Mr. Egoville joined JM Search in 1998 and is a founding member of the technology practice. Mr. Henry joined JM Search in 2007 and leads the firm’s healthcare and life sciences practice.

“Through the recruitment and assessment of executive talent, JM Search has continuously delivered exceptional leaders who drive enterprise value and improve shareholder returns to growth-stage companies,” said the firm. “JM Search’s proven track record of recruiting executives for leading technology and healthcare businesses combined with functional area expertise has established the firm as a trusted partner to investors and executives across sponsor-backed and public companies. The company’s dedicated healthcare technology team will continue to support JM’s strategy to focus on growth sectors that require deep domain knowledge, established relationships and a proven record of successful placements.”

Delivering High Performance Leaders

JM Search is an advisor to CEOs, investors and boards of directors in recruiting, assessing and delivering high performance leaders and transformational leadership teams. The firm’s clients include private equity firms and portfolio companies, venture capital-backed businesses and publicly held companies across North America. Founded in 1980, the JM Search team brings together former operating and financial executives, investors and experienced search professionals with deep industry specialization, functional expertise and proven access to talent spanning multiple industry sectors.

In June, JM Search formed a dedicated cybersecurity practice to assist public and private equity-backed companies in identifying and recruiting high-performance leaders. Partners Kevin Kernan and Tom Figueroa co-lead the firm’s center of excellence for cybersecurity leadership.

“Since our founding 40 years ago, JM Search has established a significant track record of partnering with companies that require transformational leadership to help drive operational efficiency, revenue growth and increased enterprise value,” said Mr. Marshall. “By formalizing this practice as a cybersecurity leadership center of excellence, we’re solidifying our longstanding commitment to helping clients remain at the forefront of security best practices and innovation amidst rapidly changing threat vectors, continued disruption, and required changes brought on by a global pandemic and the lasting consequences”.
