Horton International Germany Names Head of Business Unit Logistics

September 9, 2022 – Horton International Germany has added logistics and digitization expert Frederik Luz to its management team as head of business unit logistics. “The fact that Frederik is now part of the team and heads the business unit logistics is a win for us on several levels,” said Martin Krill, managing partner of Horton International Germany. “He is a thoroughbred logistician, technically thinking and experienced in the field of digital transformation of industry companies.”

“His understanding of the new generation of talent is key to optimally supporting our customers,” Mr. Krill said. “And he has all the qualities that we in our team see as guaranteeing success: human and supportive, committed, and passionate.”

Mr. Luz has extensive experience in business development, sales, and marketing in international markets. He has many years of responsibility as managing director for fast-growing, international companies in the logistics sector. Mr. Luz currently serves as business unit manager of Hager Executive Consulting.

“After very good years in the operational area, I would like to be closer to people and, in particular, to contribute my experience with the new, digitally influenced generation of logisticians and their mindset,” said Mr. Luz. “This generation is absolutely needed in today’s highly attractive logistics industry, which is still undergoing an enormous transformation process.”

“Horton International Germany’s digital pioneering role in executive search has impressed me for a long time,” Mr. Luz said. “As a team leader who knows the challenges of the international transport and logistics sector very well, I would like to support clients in finding precisely the right talent for their company, with whom they can make a strong impact in the future digitized future.”

Growing Global Firm

In July, Horton expanded in the Asian market with the addition of Yokohama-based Makana Partners as its newest member firm. “Horton International has strengthened it’s on the ground delivery capability in Japan with the addition of Yan Sen and his team,” said Maneesh Ajmani, chairman of Horton International. “We look forward to supporting our clients in Japan with our global execution capability and our local market knowledge.” Horton International’s integration with Makana Partners will help to strengthen its position within the Asian market, while also providing the team in Japan with insight and expertise to aid in its future growth.

Yan Sen Lu founded Makana Partners in 2019. To date, it has completed over 250 successful placements, and boasts a network of over 9,000 highly qualified bilingual candidates. “We’re extremely excited to join Horton International,” Mr. Lu said. “Not only do we share common values such as providing world-class service to our clients and candidates, and expanding our global footprint, but we see huge synergies across our business. Moving forward, we aspire to support Horton International to further grow its global brand.”

Horton also expanded in Mexico with its merger of talent solutions and leadership firm Atabay Consulting. “At Horton International we have been consistently working on building our leadership team, our service offering, and our global presence,” said Mr. Ajmani. “This merger is yet another step in strengthening our offering for our regional and global clients.”

Atabay Consulting is a boutique search firm in Mexico.
