Herbert Mines Places CEO at Salad and Go

May 13, 2025 – New York-based retail and consumer focused executive search firm Herbert Mines Associates has assisted in the recruitment of Mike Tattersfield as the new CEO of Salad and Go. “Mike is exactly the proven leader we need to unlock Salad and Go’s full potential,” said Florian van Rappard, Salad and Go director and partner at Volt Investment Holdings, primary owners of the company. “His mission-driven orientation and track record of brand building at multiple successful companies make him the ideal person to guide Salad and Go through its next chapter of growth and impact.”

Mr. Tattersfield, who is now a minority owner of the brand, brings more than 30 years of retail and restaurant industry leadership experience to the expanding concept. Most recently, he served as president and CEO of Krispy Kreme for nearly a decade. Previously, Mr. Tattersfield was CEO of Caribou Coffee Company and Einstein Noah Restaurant Group, president of Yum Brands, and chief operations officer of Lululemon.

“Salad and Go has built something special — it’s creating a new paradigm for fast food that makes quality, nutritious food accessible for everyone, regardless of income or ZIP code,” said Mr. Tattersfield. “I took on this role because I believe we can be a positive, disruptive force in every food category we choose to compete in, revolutionizing how Americans think about fast food.”

Salad and Go was founded in 2013 in Gilbert, AZ, by Tony and Roushan Christofellis with the help of chef Daniel Patino. The company’s centralized kitchen model allows the ability to offer made-to-order salads for under $8 through drive-thru-only locations as small as 750 square feet. There are now nearly 150 locations throughout Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, and Nevada. Last year, the company opened its largest central kitchen facility in Garland, TX, which can support up to 500 locations within a 12-hour drive.

Established in 1978, Herbert Mines is a specialist search firm focusing on the retail, fashion and apparel, beauty, consumer products and services, hospitality, leisure, restaurant, and digital/technology industries. The firm is noted for its C-suite recruiting work. Herbert Mines has conducted upwards of 3,600 searches during the tenure of Hal Reiter, who joined the firm in 1993 as president, and was appointed chairman and chief executive officer in 1998.
