Egon Zehnder Opens Office in Dublin
November 14, 2022 – Egon Zehnder recently opened a new office in Dublin, Ireland. The Dublin location marks Egon Zehnder’s 63rd global office, now across 36 countries. The office is led by Andrew Roscoe and senior advisor Karl Croke. “While we’ve served clients in Ireland for more than 20 years, this deepening of our commitment strengthens our presence in Ireland, so we can advise more organizations through their executive search and leadership advisory needs,” said Ed Camara, CEO of Egon Zehnder. “The business community in Dublin is energetic and innovative—a perfect fit for our culture and offerings.”
Mr. Roscoe is a partner and board member at Egon Zehnder. He previously led Egon Zehnder’s global executive assessment and development practice and is an active member of the firm’s board consulting and CEO practices. After specializing for many years in the energy and industrial sectors, Mr. Roscoe now concentrates on CEO and CFO succession and private-equity portfolio leadership. He is devoted to improving team performance and organizational effectiveness.
For more than 30 years, Mr. Croke has been identifying and developing leaders and leadership teams, providing services to publicly listed, multinational, large private, and state organizations. He has worked extensively with board chairs and chief executives across a range of complex organizations.
The Dublin office opening also introduces two new consultants to the firm, Fintan McGovern and Aine Flanagan. Mr. McGovern becomes a consultant in Egon Zehnder’s technology and communications, CEO, and board services group. He is experienced in working with large multinational companies across a wide spectrum of leadership and advisory services. Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Mr. McGovern was the CEO and co-founder of an IOT (internet of things) design company called Firmwave, which was acquired by a larger technology company. Previously he served in senior executive roles in telecommunications, mining, and technology in Europe, Africa, and the Caribbean.
Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Ms. Flanagan was head of people at Wayflyer, a fintech unicorn headquartered in Dublin. Before that, she held a range of roles at Flutter plc including chief strategy officer and MD for the U.K. and Ireland. She began her career as a consultant with The Parthenon Group in London and San Francisco.

Irish Market
Ireland has a modern knowledge economy, focusing on services and high-tech industries and dependent on trade, industry, and investment. The country’s famous drinks industry employs about 92,000 people and contributes billions to the Irish economy, making it one of its biggest sectors. It supports jobs in agriculture, distilling, and brewing. But a growing financial services sector base is also important, employing some 35,000 people and contributing billions in taxes annually to the Irish economy. Ireland is the seventh largest provider of wholesale financial services in Europe.
This spring, Egon Zehnder retained its status as a Top 5 global executive search firm, according to Hunt Scanlon Media. With more than 500 consultants in 68 offices and 40 countries around the globe, Egon Zehnder works with public and private corporations, family-owned enterprises, and non-profit and government agencies to provide board advisory services, CEO and leadership succession planning, executive search and assessment, and leadership development solutions. Since 1964, the firm has been at the forefront of defining top leadership in the face of changing economic conditions as well as major transitions in the executive search field.
New Chair
Michael Ensser was recently elected chair of Egon Zehnder and assumed the role on Nov. 1. He succeeded Jill Ader, who has chaired the firm since 2018 and will soon transition to an advisory role. “As our next chair, Michael embodies values-driven leadership, putting humanity and empathy at the core of all he does, which is exactly the type of leader we need to continue the firm’s tremendous growth, expanding the reach of our leadership advisory capabilities as organizations face increased complexity and transformative challenges,” said Ms. Ader.
Mr. Ensser was elected by Egon Zehnder’s partnership, where every partner has an equal vote in the selection of the chair, a legacy from the firm’s eponymous founder, who believed strongly in true partnership and good governance. Elections take place every three years, and chairs can serve for a maximum of two terms.
