Denver, Seattle, & Phoenix Show Greatest Increase in Per Capita Hiring

October 29, 2010 – The October CareerCast.com/JobSerf Employment Index, which measures managerial recruitment activity online, currently stands at 99.5, a gain of 31.7 points since October 2009. Managerial recruitment activity also stabilized this month, falling just 0.1 points. Denver led the way with the greatest growth in hiring this month (+18 percent), followed by Seattle (+14 percent), and Phoenix (+11 percent). Atlanta, Louisville, and Milwaukee weren’t far behind, with 10 percent growth in managerial hiring in October 2010. Chicago was the hardest hit this month, showing a drop of 11 percent. Hartford, which saw a slight gain in September, lost ground in October (-10 percent). “Although many cities either saw a noticeable rise or a fall in managerial hiring this month, overall the United States remained about the same,” said Jay Martin, COO, JobSerf. “The Northeast continues to be the best place to find a job.
