Coulter Partners Hires U.S. Operations Director, Four Other Executives

November 6, 2020 – The demand for talent in the life sciences sector has fueled continued growth at global executive search firm Coulter Partners. In many ways, the global pandemic has expanded the need for skilled leaders across the sector. To help manage its growth, the firm recently hired Marianne McNamara as operations director for the U.S. Also joining the firm are Evan Fishel, director on the West Coast, and Mike Miano, senior associate in New Jersey. In London, Ben Hobbins, senior consultant, and Hafsah Bhatti, an associate, also joined the firm.

“It is my great pleasure to extend a very warm welcome to our exceptional new colleagues, as we continue to expand our capabilities in life sciences and adjacent markets worldwide,” said Joe Coulter, chief operating officer. Ms. McNamara, the operational and HR lead in the U.S., is responsible for the development, motivation and management of a geographically dispersed, high performing search team, said Coulter Partners.

“Implementing strategic initiatives and best practices in alignment with operations colleagues worldwide, Marianne draws on an extensive 20-year track record in global search operations, executive search, talent acquisition, leadership, relationship building, training and operational management,” said the firm.

Strong Experience

Ms. McNamara brings executive search consulting expertise across life sciences, financial services, industrial and chemical. Most recently, she was director of talent acquisition for an international energy provider and was previously head of global search operations for ZRG.

Mr. Fishel will be responsible for board, C-suite and senior global executive search across biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical technology, with an emphasis on therapeutics, diagnostics/personalized medicine and devices. He draws on more than 20 years’ executive search experience in life sciences with prominent international search firms, managing clients from virtual, venture capital backed companies to multinational, publicly traded, commercial stage organizations.

“Evan brings extensive expertise across scientific, technical and commercial disciplines-from discovery and preclinical to translational medicine, clinical development, regulatory and medical affairs, as well as business development, finance, legal and operational functions,” said Coulter Partners.

Mr. Miano will be responsible for board, C-suite and senior level executive search execution with a broad life science focus, covering commercial, technical and scientific disciplines. He brings substantial executive search expertise gained in the life sciences practice of a leading international executive recruiter. This followed nine years as field project director for Médecins Sans Frontières.

Mr. Hobbins will conduct C-suite, board and senior global executive search across a broad range of scientific and commercial roles for pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical technology companies. He brings substantial expertise in senior global regulatory affairs leadership and draws on 15 years’ executive search experience gained with leading international search consultants, most recently, Korn Ferry. He has an extensive track record in executive search across Japan, EMEA and the U.S., predominantly in life sciences.

Ms. Bhatti conducts senior-level global executive search and research across the breadth of life sciences. She had five years of private equity executive search experience gained with a London specialist boutique for investment specialists in private markets globally, before joining Coulter Partners. Most recently a recruitment consultant for private markets, she brings substantial research experience in banking, asset management and alternatives.
