Cornerstone Launches Women on Boards

June 4, 2010 – Global executive search firm Cornerstone International Group has launched “Women on Boards” to reinforce the presence of female executives serving on international boards of directors. This new division, which will be headed by Eva Levy and based in Madrid, will help companies to achieve or exceed their profitability goals. Ms. Lévy was previously chairman of the FEDEPE (the Spanish Federation of Female Executives and Entrepreneurs). “The current economic crisis has made it apparent that those companies with more women on their boards of directors are better equipped to meet the demands of the future,” said Elena Terol, president and founder of ExcellentSearch (Cornerstone Madrid). According to figures published online, across Europe only 10 percent of board directors of the largest companies are female; in Spain it is just eight percent.
