CDI Corp. Posts Q2 Revenue Gain

August 2, 2010 – CDI Corp./(NYSE:CDI), a provider of IT-focused recruitment solutions, posted second quarter revenues of $219 million, an increase of 1.7 percent from revenues of $215.4 million in the prior year quarter. The company reported net earnings of $2.6 million, or $0.13 per diluted share, versus $0.1 million in net earnings, or $0.00 per diluted share, in the year-ago second quarter. Management Recruiters International, Inc. (MRI) revenue increased 14.2 percent versus the prior-year quarter driven by increases in royalty revenue, contract staffing revenue and franchise sales revenue. U.K.-based CDI AndersElite (Anders) revenue declined 33.7 percent (31.6 percent in constant currency) compared to the prior-year second quarter reflecting continued weak conditions in the U.K. construction industry. “We continued to see signs of a modest recovery consistent with patterns observed since the fourth quarter of 2009,” said president and CEO, Roger H. Ballou. “We are particularly pleased by signs of above-market growth in our IT Solutions segment which achieved year-over-year revenue growth of over 31 percent. Additionally, we were pleased with continued improvement in our Management Recruiters International segment which achieved year-over-year revenue growth of over 14 percent.”
