CarterBaldwin Recruits President for Augusta Tech College

October 20, 2025 – CarterBaldwin Executive Search has assisted in the recruitment of Kendricks D. Hooker as the new president of Augusta Tech College. Partner Bill Peterson and associate partner Scott Tanksley led the assignment. “Dr. Hooker is an accomplished leader with a proven record of advancing student outcomes and building strong academic programs,” said Greg Dozier, commissioner of The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG). “His deep commitment to education, workforce development, and community partnerships makes him the ideal person to lead Augusta Technical College into its next chapter.”
Dr. Hooker brings more than two decades of higher education leadership and teaching experience to Augusta Technical College. Since 2023, he has served as provost of Cabarrus College of Health Sciences in North Carolina, where he has led academic strategy and institutional initiatives to support student success. Prior to his tenure at Cabarrus College, Dr. Hooker served as vice president of Academic Affairs at Southwest Tennessee Community College in Memphis, Tennessee. He also held leadership roles at Madison Area Technical College in Madison, Wisconsin, including dean of the School of Health Education and associate dean of the School of Arts and Sciences.
In addition to his administrative leadership, Dr. Hooker spent 13 years as a professor of biology at Baptist Health Sciences University, where he was recognized for his dedication to teaching and mentoring students pursuing careers in healthcare and science.

Mr. Tanksley brings experience from the corporate, non-profit, and start-up worlds. Prior to CarterBaldwin, he helped North Point Ministries plant churches across the U.S. and Canada and coached the lead pastors as they built their teams and operations. Mr. Tanksley also founded two start-ups and worked in corporate real estate, traveling the East Coast to acquire data center facilities for large telecommunications companies.
Feed the Children Search
CarterBaldwin recently recruited Nil Loy as the first chief legal officer of Feed the Children. “Feed the Children is gaining a tremendous strategic leader in Nil Loy, and we all look forward to collaborating to create a world where no child goes to bed hungry,” said Emily Callahan, president and CEO. “Her extensive experience, combined with her passion for our mission and alignment with our values, further affirms the tremendous contributions we know she will bring to our organization.”
Ms. Loy joins Feed the Children from Population Services International and HealthX Partners Incorporated, where she served most recently as general counsel and corporate secretary. Over the last year, she was critical in combining the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation and Population Services International into the newly formed HealthX Partners Incorporated group. Prior to PSI, Ms. Loy served as general and senior counsel at Vital Strategies, Abt Global and VeriSign.
In this newly created role, Ms. Loy will help enable the bold vision and expansion plans of Feed the Children with strategic counsel and leadership, particularly in directing legal, audit and risk, and business continuity functions as the organization pursues its position of continued growth globally. She will partner with the board, CEO, executive leadership team and advise internal and external key stakeholders about critical business decisions as Feed the Children continues to plan for the future as part of the organization’s new five-year global strategic plan.
