Buffkin / Baker Taps Chief Information and Technology Officer for CarePayment
July 15, 2021 – Buffkin / Baker has placed Satish Kumar as the new chief information and technology officer for healthcare finance company CarePayment. The search was led by partner Jen Bradley and principal Ryan Baggett.
Mr. Kumar joins CarePayment from Medalogix, a predictive analytics company in the home health space, where he served as senior vice president and chief technology officer. Mr. Kumar has been responsible for key strategic initiatives at Medalogix, Servpro and Strasz, and has delivered them on time and within budget. He also has extensive application, data, security and cloud architecture experience from larger corporations including Georgia Pacific, Warner Music Group, Macy’s and the federal government.

Ms. Bradley is actively engaged in executive and senior-level assignments. She is also actively involved in the firm’s healthcare, digital and private equity practices.
Prior to her career in executive search, Ms. Bradley was employed in treasury management with Fifth Third Bank where she was responsible for client presentations, analysis and training of treasury products. Before moving into treasury management, she spent three years in institutional sales for Fifth Third Securities and also managed corporate seminars and customer relations, organized trade shows and developed new marketing materials for the subsidiary. Ms. Bradley graduated with honors from Wittenberg University and holds a bachelor’s degree in communication. She also holds an advanced certificate in executive search and leadership consulting from Cornell University, School of ILR.
Mr. Baggett is actively engaged in a variety of industry searches. Prior to joining Buffkin / Baker in 2014, he was employed with Maxim Healthcare Services, specializing in the recruitment and placement of medical professionals on both a regional and national level. Before working in regional talent acquisitions, Mr. Baggett worked in a senior recruitment capacity with the local branch office in Nashville, where he engaged in business development, management of staff, compliance procedures and the overall recruitment efforts.

Martin M. Baker, managing partner of Buffkin / Baker, assisted the University of San Diego (USD) in the recruitment of Regina Dixon-Reeves as its vice provost for diversity, equity and inclusion. “I am delighted to announce that Regina Dixon-Reeves, PhD, has been appointed as vice provost for diversity, equity and inclusion,” said USD VP and provost Gail F. Baker. “She is a champion for diversity and inclusion and is an accomplished scholar, author and lecturer.”
Dr. Dixon-Reeves comes to USD from the University of Chicago, where she served as the assistant provost in the office of the provost. She holds a doctorate in sociology with a concentration in higher education from the University of Chicago.
