March 15, 2021 – Top-drawer chief revenue officers are commonly found at start-ups and smaller businesses and tend to the bottom line while the rest of the C-level team expand key partnerships, look for growth opportunities or source funding. That is changing, however, as larger businesses now view the CRO post as an essential, long-term role. The search firm is seeking a dynamic sales leader and innovator in the data as a service (DaaS) arena as the company drives continued growth through multi-channel consumer marketing solutions. Candidate must be experienced executive with a proved track record of leading and developing high-performing sales and sales operations teams, said the search firm. They must also have hands-on experience selling consumer data solutions direct to mid-level to enterprise brands, understanding how data can impact direct and digital marketing initiatives.
The chief revenue officer will play a critical strategic and tactical role serving as a member of the senior leadership team and reporting directly to the CEO, said Buffkin/ Baker. Key responsibilities will be to provide strategic leadership for revenue growth, empowerment of individual team members, ensuring operational excellence and client satisfaction, and participation in business and product development. This position is based in Alliant’s northern Westchester County headquarters in Brewster, NY. The role requires extensive interaction with both internal and external customers, prospects, and strategic partners. The position requires 30 percent travel, both locally and nationally.
Buffkin/ Baker said that candidates must have 10-plus years of sales and sales management in a data-driven marketing or technical/analytic environment, ideally within marketing services organizations. They should have expansive experience in successfully selling consumer data to marketers and a strong record of meeting and exceeding revenue goals and client expectations. In addition, candidate must have strong quantitative/analytical skills, a deep understanding of traditional and modern analytics processes and their impact in the marketing community, defining strategies for utilizing analytics and data to drive marketing results. They should also have the ability to generate lucid business analyses of strategic marketing investments and communicate benefits and value propositions to marketing executives. Also critical is depth of understanding of P&L metrics for marketing campaign projects as well as outstanding communication, writing and presentation skills.
