Artico Search Appoints Partner

April 21, 2026 – Artico Search has expanded with the addition of Andrew McCormack as partner, strengthening the firm’s New York-based growth equity and venture capital practice with a seasoned executive search leader. “Andrew brings the judgment, connectivity, and client partnership we value most deeply,” said Mercedes Chatfield-Taylor, co-founder and chief executive officer of Artico Search. “He is relentlessly client-focused, highly respected across the market, and has built his career delivering at the elite levels. We’re excited to have him join us as we continue to expand our New York presence and deepen our partnerships across private capital.”

Mr. McCormack joins from Ferguson Partners, a real estate investment-focused executive search firm, where he was a director and co-led the New York office. He began his career at David Barrett Partners, and has worked with clients including Harvard Management Company, Blackstone, Goldman Sachs, KKR and J.P. Morgan.

Over the past decade, McCormack has completed more than 200 searches across C-suite, board, partner, and business unit leadership roles. He is known for taking a consultative approach helping clients define and solve for their most critical organizational needs, rather than simply filling a role. In one recent engagement, a search initially focused on a capital-raising hire evolved into the placement of a chief strategy officer after identifying a broader executive gap.

At Artico, Mr. McCormack will focus on investor and portfolio company leadership, including fund-level CFOs, heads of people, investors, and operational and go-to-market executives.

“Artico’s reputation and trajectory made this an easy decision,” said Mr. McCormack. “The firm operates with a level of discipline and quality that stands out; deep relationships, thoughtful growth, and a clear commitment to getting it perfectly right for clients. I’m excited to help build on that foundation, particularly in New York.”

Deep Founder Expertise

With offices in San Francisco, New York, and Austin, Artico is off to one of the fastest starts among boutique search firms in recent memory. Given the billions of dollars flowing into venture capital and private equity investments, as well as the ever-present threat of cybersecurity breaches, the founders expect continued growth ahead.

Ms. Chatfield-Taylor has completed over 75 CEO searches as well as partner, principal, and other CXO level assignments for the world’s most successful global investors. Her team focuses on executive-level search for scale-up venture capital and private equity-firms and their portfolios. The team has deep expertise in AI, software, data and emerging technology businesses.

A pioneer in the development of the cybersecurity recruiting industry, Matt Comyns co-founded Artico Search with Ms. Chatfield-Taylor to lead the team helping companies protect against cyberwarfare. He built the original cybersecurity search practices at two global firms — Russell Reynolds Associates and Caldwell Partners — completing more than 300 executive-level searches in a hyper-competitive market by serving as a trusted advisor for chief information security officers. He developed his vast network as founding CEO and sales executive at tech and media companies in New York, San Francisco, and Beijing.

New IANS and Artico Search Report Finds Only 34 Percent of Cybersecurity Professionals Plan to Stay in Their Current Roles

Only 34 percent of cybersecurity professionals plan to stay with their current employer, highlighting declining job satisfaction across the field and challenging CISOs to be aggressive and innovative in how they retain talent in a challenging labor market, according to IANS and Artico Search’s just released 2026 Cybersecurity Talent Report. As organizations rely on their security teams to address an increasing volume and speed of security threats, the findings point to a shift in how cybersecurity leaders must think about talent. Compensation remains important, but it is not the primary driver of retention.

“Security leaders are navigating a complex talent environment where expectations are rising, but resources are not,” said Steve Martano, IANS Faculty member and partner at Artico Search. “We still see junior-level cyber professionals commanding high levels of compensation, but it is clear that top-quartile talent is seeking more than just a hearty paycheck. Visibility, career growth, and support from security leadership are necessary to keep high performers.”

This past fall, Artico added Glenn Zweig as partner. “Glenn represents exactly the kind of partner we want at Artico,” said Ms. Chatfield-Taylor. “He shares our client-first mindset and our conviction that excellence in leadership search means going far deeper than filling a role. His background scaling technology companies and his curiosity about the role of AI in reshaping the talent landscape make him an exceptional fit for where we’re headed as a firm.”

“Glenn is a great strategic addition to the Artico platform,” said Mr. Comyns. “He embodies our core beliefs of excellent client and candidate experience. He also has a deep background in finding innovative technology leaders that will position Artico clients for the challenges of the future.”

Mr. Zweig helps high-growth technology companies win their markets by building world-class leadership teams. He specializes in CEO, CFO, and C-suite searches and doubles as an executive coach to unlock peak performance. He has deep expertise in scaling innovative companies, particularly those backed by private equity and venture capital, and is helping to expand Artico’s capabilities at the intersection of talent strategy and AI.
