Witt/Kieffer Heading CEO Search for International Assn. of Fairs

July 30, 2015 – Executive search firm Witt/Kieffer has been selected by the International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE) to lead its search for a new chief executive officer.

Heading the assignment are Jennifer Biehn, a consultant in Witt/Kieffer’s not-for-profit practice, and Gregory R. Santoreprincipal and sports leadership practice leader. IAFE CEO Jim Tucker announced his retirement after 15 years at the helm. In its next leader IAFE plans to find an individual with the same drive, passion, and commitment to positive change. “We selected Witt/Kieffer based upon the firm’s vast experience helping non-profit and other leading organizations find truly dedicated and exceptional leaders,” said John Sykes, IAFE chairman.

“We are seeking a CEO who appreciates the importance of the development and improvement of agricultural fairs, shows, and expositions.” IAFE is a voluntary, not-for-profit corporation, serving state, provincial, regional, and county agricultural fairs, shows, exhibitions, and expositions.

“We are looking for a candidate who will fully embrace the task of creating sustainable growth and success for IAFE,” said Ms. Biehn, who has filled similar roles for non-profits including LiveWell Colorado, Texas A&M 12th Man Foundation and Zoological Society of Florida. Mr. Santore is currently leading CEO searches for American Angus Association, International Association of Fairs and Expositions and the National Association of College Stores.

No timeline has been established for completing the search, though IAFE and Witt/Kieffer are working aggressively to identify a diverse pool of candidates for the position. Ideally, the role will be filled by October.

Witt/Kieffer assists hospitals, health systems, academic medical centers, medical schools and physician groups; biotech, pharmaceutical, diagnostics and medical device companies; colleges and universities and not-for-profit community service and cultural organizations with senior administrative recruiting assignments.
