Lucas Group Names Manufacturing Practice Leader

September 9, 2016 – Executive search firm Lucas Group has expanded its presence in Southern California with the addition of Jennifer Bowers as managing partner and leader of its manufacturing practice in San Diego.

She joins a tenured team of manufacturing recruiters. Ms. Bowers has served in various recruiting roles with Adecco and Eastridge Workforce Solutions.

Across California, manufacturing is experiencing a boom as the local economy continues to recover and the manufacturing sector begins to hire again. “Jennifer has joined our powerhouse manufacturing team in San Diego, bringing nearly a decade of experience in staffing, management and industrial markets,” said Charlie Wilgus, Lucas Group general manager of manufacturing recruitment services. “We are fortunate to have Jennifer lead the charge with her positive attitude, industry knowledge and proven consultative approach to recruiting and leadership skills.”

Jennifer’s experience and expertise in the industry will prove to be invaluable, he added. “With a focus on industrial manufacturing, supply chain management careers, logistics and distribution, as well as aerospace, engineering and other manufacturing sectors, our team partners with mid-tier to Fortune 500 corporations to address their critical staffing needs with transcendent manufacturing talent. We are excited to add Jennifer to our team to help lead them on a continued track to success.”

In addition to its manufacturing sector specialty, Lucas Group specializes in several other practice groups, including accounting & finance, human resources, IT, legal, sales & marketing, manufacturing and military transition. This summer, the firm expanded its footprint in Cincinnati with the addition of a new regional manufacturing practice. Jimmy Dwertman was hired to lead the office as managing partner. He then proceeded to work in leadership roles within several manufacturing companies, including Avery Dennison and Clopay Plastics, before beginning his recruiting career with Orion International.

Lucas Group also appointed Laura Kesler as managing partner for its information technology offices in San Diego, Las Vegas and Phoenix. She manages a team of five recruiters between San Diego and Las Vegas with team growth projected to reach 10 in the immediate future. Previously, Ms. Kesler was a managing director at Netview, a national technology solutions and IT recruiting provider.

The firm also strengthened its legal search practice in New York City with the addition of Amdie Mengistu as its new leader. He manages a team of executive recruiters and continues to expand out the practice. Mr. Mengistu transitioned into legal recruiting in 2012 and rose to managing director with boutique legal search firm Empire Search Partners.
