True Search Helps MyFitnessPal Recruit New CEO

January 22, 2024 – Global talent provider True has placed Mike Fisher as the new CEO of MyFitnessPal in New York City. He succeeds Dinesh Lathi who will remain involved with the company as a member of the board of directors. Todd Zangrillo and Kristin Godfrey, co-leaders of the firm’s consumer practice, led the search along with Elizabeth Tyler, senior associate. “We are excited to partner with Mike as we see tremendous growth in the health and wellness technology sector and believe Mike’s experience at driving product innovation will further enhance our user experience and help millions more achieve their goals,” said Christine Wang, partner at Francisco Partners, backers of MyFitnessPal. “We are grateful to Dinesh for his service and appreciate his ongoing involvement at the board level.”

Mr. Fisher has a track record as a visionary technology leader with a deep understanding of consumer platforms, from nascent startups to established public entities, including at Etsy, at AOL-acquired company Quigo, at AKF Partners, a consultancy specializing in aiding technology firms in scaling operations, and at PayPal. He is a veteran who previously served as a captain and pilot in the U.S. Army. A staunch advocate for philanthropy and service, Mr. Fisher served on the board of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and currently serves on the board of the West Point Association of Graduates.

True Search Recruits CEO for Match Group
True Search has assisted in the recruitment of Bernard Kim as the new chief executive officer of Match Group, a provider of digital technologies designed to help people make meaningful connections. Shar Dubey will be stepping down from the company’s top post at the end of the month. Todd Zangrillo, Agata de Reyes, and Ish Elhelbawey led the assignment. “For Match Group CEO we needed to find an executive who intuitively understands consumer tech products and community, is attuned to new technologies, has a global perspective and is experienced in managing a portfolio of highly successful brands,” said Ms. de Reyes. “In Bernard we were able to find all that plus a dynamic leader who fosters innovation and is a fantastic culture builder and people magnet. A tech growth-company builder for more than 20 years, Mr. Zangrillo co-leads the firm’s consumer practice. He conducts a range of CxO searches for True clients across a broad number of sectors. The consumer team’s breadth of knowledge and expertise within consumer internet, beauty, retail and fashion, food, travel and hospitality, and digital media and entertainment provides a strong multi-faceted approach. Prior to joining True, he served as the human resources business partner with eBay’s E-commerce technology organization.

As co-head of the consumer practice, Ms. Godfrey leads board and C-suite searches for True across the consumer sector with a specialization in marketing and CEO/COO roles. She partners with high-growth businesses at all stages, from series A start-ups through publicly traded companies. Prior to joining True, Ms. Godfrey was VP of talent and human resources at Thrive Market.

Ms. Tyler works in True’s CEO and board practices. Prior to True, she was a talent intern at VMG Partners, a San Francisco-based private equity firm that invests primarily in the consumer-packaged goods space.
