Michelle Powers is pleased to join Cook Silverman Search as their Talent Consultant, bringing 15+ years of
experience as a fundraising and talent leader and collaborator for inspiring institutions such as the Tufts University, Stanford Law School, and History San José.
Throughout her career, Michelle has delivered measurable results in fundraising, membership, marketing, and social media through a strategic, holistic approach. In particular, Michelle enjoyed facilitating an exceptional experience for donors, collaborating thoughtfully with board members, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to drive successful campaigns. On a parallel path, Michelle has cultivated experience and knowledge in the talent lifecycle space, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and intentionally developing exceptional team members.
After shifting into the talent space, Michelle maintained her connection to fundraising as an instructor in the JFK University Museum Studies program teaching Fundraising + Marketing and Strategic Thinking + Planning; through select consulting opportunities; and volunteering in the community as a member of the Junior League of San Diego and presently for the Junior League of Dallas.
Michelle earned her BA in Psychology and Art History from Clark University, her MBA/Master’s in Museum Studies from JFK University, and a Leadership & Management certificate from U.C. Berkeley. Michelle proudly served as a member of the Board of Directors of Cultural Connections, the Association for Talent Development – Golden Gate Chapter, and the California Association of Museums.
