Melissa has more than 20 years of planning leadership experience in municipal governments such as Tucson, Santa Fe and West Hollywood, as well as through her work with national organizations. Her expertise includes local government management and administration, project and program management, process improvement, community engagement/group facilitation, strategic planning and integrated long-range planning.

Melissa’s professional background in municipal government provides her with an intimate understanding of the political and community dynamics that local governments navigate in managing operations and delivering on the services identified by communities. She has an in-depth understanding of government operations, funding, programs and staffing, and the nuances of government culture. She is skilled at organizational design and effectiveness planning, process assessment and improvement and in developing integrated and collaborative work styles across organizations.
