Lindauer Fills Senior Position for the Council for Advancement and Support of Education

August 9, 2024 – The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) partnered with Lindauer to find an educational leader to provide innovative and strategic leadership for its education division. Paula Fazli and Cori Anderson of the firm assisted in the recruitment of Stephen Martin as vice president of education and a member of the executive leadership team. “Leading educational institutions and associations are building robust online learning programs that meet constituents where they are and provide meaningful, dynamic educational experiences for them,” said Ms. Fazli. “As CASE works to extend the impact of its professional development offerings, we were proud to partner with them on an executive search that will make a profound difference in the lives and careers of more than 97,000 advancement professionals globally.”
Mr. Martin brings 30 years of experience in membership associations and professional training and development organizations, most recently as the managing director, professional development and resources at the American Institute of Architects. There, he oversaw a member learning strategy to strengthen member value and retention, while integrating learning across delivery channels, including conferences, online learning platforms, and knowledge communities. As a result of Mr. Martin’s efforts, the AIA’s online learning platform has grown to deliver more than 300 programs annually.
Mr. Martin and the education team, along with dedicated volunteer leaders, will identify new delivery models for disseminating CASE’s cutting-edge professional development offerings, including implementing a more robust digital strategy, while maintaining CASE’s long-standing commitment to high-touch, in-person programs and convenings. He will develop a range of in-person and online learning opportunities that engage, support, and educate 97,000 advancement professionals at every stage of their career journeys.
Established in1974, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education is a non-profit association of educational institutions. It serves professionals in the field of educational advancement. This field encompasses alumni relations, communications, marketing and development (fundraising) for educational institutions such as universities and independent or private schools.
Lindauer serves higher and secondary education, hospitals, academic research centers, think tanks, research facilities, and foundations, as well as advocacy, public service, social justice and other mission-driven non-profits. The firm has led searches for the Boston YMCA, Center for Applied Special Technology, Healthy Minds Innovations/Center for Healthy Minds, the University of Texas at Austin, and the Cockrell School of Engineering, among others.

Ms. Anderson is a consultant with a focus on working with mission-oriented organizations She brings to Lindauer over 14 years in higher education, specializing in arts and culture, diversity education, and social and environmental justice partnerships. Ms. Anderson serves non-profit arts, education, and advocacy organizations.
Recent Assignment
Lindauer recently recruited Susie Posner-Jones as vice president and chief development officer of Boston Medical Center (BMC), the largest essential hospital in New England. The search was led by Lindauer assistant vice president Terri Rutter and senior consultant Elsa Gomes Bondlow. “Susie Posner-Jones brings an exemplary record of success in donor engagement, along with a dedication throughout her career to promoting health equity and addressing social determinants of health,” said Anthony Hollenberg, president of BMC. “She will elevate BMC’s nationally recognized care by deepening donor relationships and executing innovative fundraising strategies to support the expansion of patient services and hospital infrastructure.”
Ms. Posner-Jones has more than two decades of experience in development leadership positions, spanning education, human services, healthcare, and philanthropy. She was previously the chief development officer at Cambridge Health Alliance.
