How Search Firms Make the Most of Their Global Reach
May 7, 2024 – Search firm clients expect to be able to choose from the widest possible talent pool. “Whether that is a global multi-billion dollar corporation or privately-owned business, a global search firm is able to access the best talent, wherever that candidate may be located,” said Anthony Harling, founding partner at Harlschon.
“Having a strong global brand is important in terms of engaging with clients and candidates,” Mr. Harling said. “A global marketing campaign allows the firm to project a clear and consistent brand message to an international audience, thereby increasing the pool of clients and candidates accessible to that firm in the local market. Clients are demanding access to the best possible talent globally. They also expect a seamless process for any multi-country or international search, regardless of who is leading the search project within that particular firm. A local firm that operates as part of an international group needs to offer exactly the same capability as one of the Big 5 firms.
“The global networks are challenging the Big 5 firms very effectively,” Mr. Harling says. “They combine the depth of understanding at a local level with the consistency of service and access to global talent. The more sophisticated firms have built an integrated global database based on platforms such as Ezekia which offer greater flexibility and adaptability to suit the specific needs of each firm. Global cooperation on candidates and assignments is easier than ever.”
Join Ezekia on Thursday, May 9th for an exclusive webinar, presented in partnership with Hunt Scanlon Media, that delves into the nuanced world of global executive search strategies. This session, moderated by Mr. Harling, features a panel of seasoned industry leaders: Franz Rois of Stanton Chase, Gemma Van Rooyen of Horton International, and Dr. Sinead Gibney of Perrett Laver. Together, they will explore the transformative impact of global reach in redefining talent acquisition strategies, offering insights into balancing local and global decision-making, and driving innovation within a global network.
The discussion will highlight the significance of a global network in providing comprehensive support to both local and international clients, ensuring that the balance of global versus local decision-making aligns with client needs in an ever-evolving landscape. Our panelists will share their experiences and insights on fostering innovation and the strategic benefits of being part of a global network, including how it enhances global marketing efforts and operational models.
Amidst the changing dynamics of client preferences and the growing importance of cultural intelligence, this webinar will provide a platform for understanding how global executive search firms navigate these challenges. It will also touch upon the crucial role of standardizing elements of the global operating model to achieve consistency and efficiency across borders, ensuring the success of talent acquisition and retention strategies in a global organization.
“We have some of the fastest-growing firms represented on this webinar,” Mr. Harling said. “We will be talking about how these firms are able to compete more effectively, how they are driving outstanding performance and results, giving their partners and their clients the best possible performance in terms of state-of-the-art executive search. Things are changing in executive search and these are the firms driving some of that change.”
