Estes Park Health Taps B.E. Smith to Find CEO

October 1, 2019 – As the healthcare industry continues its transformation, talent management remains a high priority. The shortage of physicians and other clinicians is one matter. But healthcare organizations must also fill new and expanding leadership roles to carry out strategic initiatives in response to reform efforts, and whatever changes are coming. This has produced a high demand for top-notch leaders in the sector – and executive recruiters who can land them.

B.E. Smith, a healthcare-focused executive search firm, has been selected to find the next chief executive officer for Estes Park Health, a medical center in Estes Park, CO. Mick Ruel, vice president of executive search, is leading the assignment.

B. E. Smith was selected after a search that started with a list of 38 national healthcare executive search firms. The list was reduced to 11 based on recommendations from multiple sources and reviews of their online information. Of those, seven were asked to submit proposals for the CEO search, and reviews of the proposals resulted in three finalist search firms. The finalists, in turn, were asked to respond to 23 questions and were interviewed.

The next step will be an onsite visit by the B. E. Smith team to understand the current Estes Park Health culture and the required CEO attributes, said the medical center. The recruiters will meet with the search committee, physicians, the board, Estes Park Health management groups, key stakeholders in the community, and have an open forum with all staff for their input.
