Ellig Group Names President

February 2, 2023 – New York City-based Ellig Group has appointed Lisa Buckingham as president of the firm. “Lisa is a dynamic, committed leader who has worked extensively with boards of directors and across the C-suite, and whose purpose-driven values are aligned with Ellig Group’s core mission of changing the face of corporate America,” said Janice Ellig, CEO of Ellig Group. “I’m delighted to welcome Lisa as we expand our range of executive and board search activities and increase our focus on advisory services and assessments. As a trusted advisor to boards and CEOs, our team brings tailored solutions to enhance cultures, DEI, and business growth.”

Ms. Buckingham previously served as chief people, place, and brand officer for Lincoln Financial Group for more than a decade. She led human resources, corporate marketing, enterprise communications, and corporate social responsibility, as well as the foundation, facilities, aviation, and corporate strategic real estate. She was a member of the senior management committee, reporting directly to president, chief executive officer, and director, Dennis R. Glass.

Prior to that, Ms. Buckingham held several executive roles in human resources and organizational development at Thomson Reuters. She played a key leadership role in the company’s digital technology transformation and offshoring initiatives to drive global efficiencies and further streamlined the company. “Her deep professional interests in transforming cultures, companies and lives through innovative talent strategies, career development, and coaching have helped to drive better engagement and DEI, more decisive leadership, and exceptional boards,” Ellig Group said.

Ms. Buckingham earned her bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University. “It really is all about talent in this incredibly competitive market, and having the access and experience to get the right person in the right role,” said Ms. Buckingham. “Ellig Group differentiates its search practice by including coaching over the first 100 days. That transforms organizations and the success of our candidates.”

Board Advisory Services

Ellig Group’s board advisory services focus on practical improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of governance processes in organizations. The firm’s work engages boards and CEOs around the most strategic elements of governance, including value-driven director and CEO succession planning and ongoing board skill development and education.

Complementing its board advisory and executive search services, the firm provides clients a holistic approach to talent identification and development through its executive assessment capabilities, AI/analytics, and leadership development and onboarding programs. The firm said that its commitment to supporting diverse and inclusive leadership has resulted in a demonstrated long-term track record in which 75 percent of executives and 85 percent of board directors placed in client organizations being women and leaders from underrepresented groups.

In addition to Ellig Group’s board advisory offering, the firm also recently launched the Board-Readiness Coaching Program (BRCP). The program provides executives with a six-month strategic coaching program to ultimately position them for a suitable, rewarding board role. The objective of the Ellig Group BRCP is the development of an actionable plan and tools to accelerate an executive’s path to corporate board affiliation. Ellig Group will provide experienced resources including International Coaching Federation certified coaches, personal brand specialists, writing and research support, and access to its extensive network of executives and directors.
