ST. AUGUSTINE, FL, May 18, 2016 — The Tolan Group – A top performing office of the Sanford Rose Associates Network of Offices, and a leader in HCIT executive search released its annual HCIT sales compensation report. Participation in this survey was voluntary and completed by HCIT senior executives, VP’s, RVP’s and sales executives across the United States. The report details every facet of compensation including base salary, incentive compensation, stock options, titles, quota attainment, geographical coverage, education and years of experience in sales, healthcare and HCIT.
“This report validates how much companies in the HCIT market value sales performance in this fast growing sector,” said Tim Tolan, CEO and Managing Partner of The Tolan Group. The market is very hot right now and it doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. Just five years ago, venture capitalists invested a few hundred million dollars of venture capital in HCIT. In 2015 the level of investment was over $4 billion. This new influx of capital puts tremendous pressure on companies to find and keep great people in this new war on talent in our sector,” added Tolan.
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) authorized billions of dollars to provide incentive payments to eligible professionals (EPs) and hospitals that adopt, implement, upgrade, or demonstrate meaningful use of certified electronic health record (EHR) technology. This government mandate fueled interest in HCIT – which created an incredible awareness and appeal for investors, entrepreneurs and talent.
The 2016 HCIT Sales Compensation Survey can be a useful tool for companies to validate compensation plans they offer candidates against current market data. “That’s how companies will attract and retain great sales and sales leadership talent, added Tolan. The level of expertise on many of the survey participants is impressive. Sales leaders are earning higher base salaries and total compensation than ever before. The billions of dollars invested in the last decade in HCIT have made the industry much more appealing and attractive to great sales talent and companies will now have to compete more than ever to retain top talent.”
