Dr. Vaidyanathan has spent the last thirteen years advising boards, CEOs and executive teams on the fundamental issues of leadership, succession planning, governance, senior team effectiveness, and change management. Clients of Oliver Wyman and Intersect International have benefited from her data-driven assessments and insights.
Since 2008, Vandana has worked at the intersection of executive leadership and strategy implementation. At Intersect International, she consults with mid to large-cap companies in the finance, insurance, manufacturing, and technology industries. When a new strategy warrants organizational change, Dr. Vaidyanathan facilitates dialogue between key players, CEOs and their teams to gain alignment. When a CEO succession plan is needed, she engages directly with board members to articulate the company’s future strategy, develop a profile of the necessary CEO talent, assess candidates against that profile, identify possible interventions to close any critical gaps, and formulate an onboarding plan for the chosen successor. She also runs diagnostics on the efficacy of executive leadership teams and the effectiveness and governance of boards, and develops action plans to enhance overall impact.
Previously, while a principal at Oliver Wyman Delta, Vandana gained extensive experience in leadership and organizational effectiveness while applying David Nadler’s theories of organizational design and transformation. Dr. Vaidyanathan finessed her analytical abilities during earlier career stints as an assessment specialist at JPMorgan Chase & Co. and as a jury consultant at Doar Litigation, America’s leading trial consultancy, where her insights into juror deliberation and decision-making processes assisted in jury selection and case strategies.
Vandana is certified in Hogan Assessments and holds a Ph.D. in industrial/organizational psychology with a minor in quantitative psychology (Ohio State University), a MA in applied psychology (University of Delhi), and a BA in psychology (University of Madras).
