Roy is recognized as one of the foremost HR professionals in China, who understands the business and pro-actively adding value to the business by developing HR strategy and organization culture and structure which is in alignment with the business strategy.
Roy has over 20 years successful HR management experience in China. He joined Bristol-Myers Squibb China as Director, Human Resources in 1999, and was promoted to Senior Director, Human Resources in 2000. Apart from managing HR function for BMS in China, Roy also led several important corporate-wide HR related projects, such like “Developing and moving talent globally”, etc. for Bristol-Myers Squibb. As he has worked in several industries, he practiced HR in different stage/side of businesses, expanding vs downsizing, commercial vs manufacturing, operational vs strategic, etc.
Roy is currently Managing Director of ProHR International (Shanghai) Limited, which is a HR consulting firm focusing on providing executive searches and HR solutions. ProHR International was nominated as “Recruitment Firm of the Year” in 2003, 2004 and 2005 by China and Hong Kong’s leading HR journal “China Staff”.
In 1998, Roy was presented as “Shanghai HR Manager of the year” by China and Hong Kong’s leading HR journal “China Staff”. In 2003, Roy was the winner of “Outstanding Contribution to HR in Hong Kong and China” by “China Staff”, the first time ever the award was presented to a local HR professional.
He is currently Secretary General of HR Management Association of CEIBS Alumni. Was Chairman of HR Committee of American Chamber of Commerce during 2002-2004. He speaks often on HR Management for MBA program in Fudan University, CEIBS and Shanghai University.
